The Commercial Spaceflight Regulatory requirements in America are based on a launch-licensing regime and (for launches with paying ‘participants’) requiring a ‘waiver’ [meaning the participant has been told of the risks and that they understand the vehicle is NOT certified by the FAA]. Within Europe a Regulatory framework does not yet exist and Saturn SMS are assisting in the development of a suitable framework. Saturn SMS are working with orbital and suborbital players in developing certification requirements and have been an integral part of the UKSA/UKCAA spaceplane Working Group (which the EASA support).
