IAASS

Andy is the Chair of a new Suborbital Space Safety Technical Committee (SSS TC)  for the IAASS. The SSS TC will focus on suborbital aspects only and will aim to harmonize the regulatory approaches and address technical and operating issues in order to provide best practice and provide standards for the IAASS/ISSB Space Safety Standards Manual. Watch this space for further news.

He presented a joint paper to the IAASS in 2008 regarding personal space safety and in particular Centrifuge Training as key mitigation.

Andy also presented a paper on Safety Criteria at the 4th IAASS conference in Huntsville, Alabama. He was also a member of the panel for the discussion on Commercial/Private Spaceflight.
